Language: Spanish. Indigenuos languages spoken as well.

Electricity: The nationwide voltage is 110-v AC.

Water: The water is safe to drink in most areas of the country.

Time Zone: Costa Rica is on Central Standard Time (GMT -6), but does not observe daylight saving time.

Biodiversity

Costa Rica is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world. It is home to unique species, has tropical forests, cloud forests, mangroves, the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific coast.

Lanscapes

It has volcanoes, such as Arenal, Irazú, Rincón de la Vieja, Poás and Turrialba. It has Cerro Chirripó, the highest peak in Costa Rica (3,820 m.a.s.l.) (12,532 feet above sea level). Also the beaches of Costa Rica are famous for their natural beauty on both coasts.

Climate

Costa Rica's climatic periods are defined by the amount of rainfall during a particular period and not by the seasons of the northern hemisphere. The year can be divided into two periods, the dry period, and the rainy period. The dry period goes from December to April and the rainy period goes from May to November, however this climate pattern is only for certain regions of the country, several other areas have different climatic conditions where it rains constantly such as the northern region, lowlands and foothills of the Caribbean, South Pacific region, in general the microclimates are determined by elevation, precipitation and topography.

Activities

You can opt for guided nature walks, hanging bridge walks, zipling, kayaking in the river or sea, surfing, relaxing with spa treatments, white water rafting, and many more activities that will make your visit memorable.
